A widely recognized system by the GFSI for the management of food quality and safety.
SQF is a certification standard for processes and products, which consists in an integrated food quality and safety system, designed for organizations to demonstrate their compliance of food-safety requirements. The program is applicable to different sectors of the supply chain like: Primary production, manufacturing, processing, food packaging, transport, storage, distribution, marketing and food service.
The main characteristic of SQF is its focus on the systematic application of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points,) for the control of food quality and safety hazards.
To obtain the SQF Certification, the organism must document and implement the elements of the system and modules of the corresponding SQF Code, in two stages:
|Food Safety Fundamentals|
|SQF Fundamentals for primary production: Basic||All primary food sector Categories (FSCs)|
|SQF Fundamentals for primary production:||Intermediate All primary food sector Categories (FSCs)|
|SQF Fundamentals for Manufacturing: Basic||All Manufacturing and Storage and Distribution food sector categories (FSCs)|
|SQF Fundamentals for Manufacturing: Intermediate||All Manufacturing and Storage and Distribution food sector categories (FSCs)|
